About this event
The 2019 Brimstone Slave Route Challenge took place on Sunday, 31 March 2019, at City Hall in Cape Town, Western Cape. Distances were 21.1km, 10km and 5km. Official results have been published by the timekeeper.
Cape Town was built by those who were enslaved and apprentices from Indonesia and Malaysia, many Capetonians can trace their ancestors back to this time. A running event with the purpose of raising awareness about our history and heritage, Brimstone Slave Route Challenge was born.
Experienced runners can enjoy a Half Marathon or 10km Run and novices can enjoy the 10km Big Walk or 5km Fun Run / Walk. It truly encapsulates the spirit of Ubuntu! Medals for all finishers and water/snacks en-route.
