This year Lake Farm Centre will celebrate the 30th edition of their annual popular fundraiser, the Lake Farm Centre Charity Run, on Saturday, 8 March. Entrants can choose from the popular 5km walk/run, 10km or the 25km Rolf Kordes Endurance Challenge. Both the 10km and 25km events are EP Athletics Participation League events.The Lake Farm Centre Charity Run is the Centre’s flagship fundraiser which has continued over many years thanks to the long-term support of Investec, Pam Golding Properties, Kingfisher FM and Bukani Print.

Glenrose Xaba Shatters South African and Sanlam Cape Town Marathon Records on Debut
There was delight for South Africa as Glenrose Xaba shattered the National and Sanlam Cape Town Marathon records, on marathon debut; on Sunday, 20 October. The current South African 5 000 and 10 000 metre, as well as the 10 kilometre road record holder, clocked an impressive time of 2 hours, 22 minutes, and 22 seconds, to shave 1 minute and 40 seconds off the course record (2 hours, 24 minutes, and 2 seconds) as well as a further second off Gerda Steyn’s previous best marathon time for a South African (2 hours, 24 minutes, and 3 seconds). The 2024 men’s champion, Abdisa Tola also broke the course record – though his impressive feat was somewhat overshadowed by the South African Air Force Gripen fly over which Xaba’s performance received.
Precious Mashele celebrates Birthday as fastest South African to complete a 5km run on SA soil
The Boxer Athletics Club dominated the Boxer Super Run in Durban on Sunday, 13 October 2024 with Precious Mashele successfully defending his title and becoming the fastest South African to complete a 5km run on home soil with an impressive time of 13:39. In the Women’s Elite Race, Karabo More took top honours in a time of 16:16.
