Event ran 1 week agoThe 2026 Balwin Sport Peninsula Marathon took place Sunday, 15 February 2026 from 05h15 starting at mulitple locations per distance and finishing at Simon's Town Naval Base in Simon's Town, Western Cape. Distances included a 42.2km and 21.1km races.
The Balwin Run Series is a four-race series that incorporates one of the oldest races on the South African race calendar, the Peninsula 21km and 42km, proudly presented by Celtic Harriers.
The Marathon is one of South Africa's iconic races with a rich history going back nearly 60 years. Running from Cape Town to Simons Town, along the spectacular False Bay coastline, this flat and fast route is made for personal best times. The event is also an Abbott age group World Rankings qualifier.
The race also offers an incredible half-marathon starting in Bergvliet and heading to the same finish in Simons Town.

- 21km - Bergvliet Primary School, Children’s Way, Bergvliet
