About this event
The 2026 eMalahleni City Marathon will take place Saturday, 19 September 2026 from 06:15, at Witbank High School, Woltemade St & Beatty Ave in eMalahleni, Mpumalanga, South Africa. Distances include a 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km races.
The race is an early official Two Oceans and Comrades Marathon qualifier.
Come celebrate heritage month with us. To celebrate our city's rich mining heritage. We have a special medal for those that dig deep to flatten our black hills to finish the 21km in under 2 hours and 42km in under 4 hours.
The special medal is coated in Anthracite (dark antique silver) colour. Anthracite coal is the highest grade of coal in the world and is vastly mined in Emalahleni. We embrace our City's name Emalahleni which means a place rich in coal.
