About this event

The 2025 Prof. Otty Nxumalo Marathon took place on Saturday, 4 October 2025, at Inkamana Abbey in Vryheid, KwaZulu-Natal. Distances were 42.2km, 21.1km, 10km and 5km. Official results have been published by the timekeeper. It was a qualifying event for both the Comrades Marathon and the Two Oceans Marathon.

This race had its humble beginnings in February 2022 as Inkamana Road Race, offering a 10 km race and the 5 km fun run. In 2023 this event leaped forward as Inkamana Half Marathon, with the 21.1km race being added.

It is with great excitement in 2025 to grow this event to a full 42 km marathon and to rename it in honour of one Son of the Soil, a Zululand great and Inkamana High School Alumni, the Honourable Professor Otty Nxumalo.

The marathon race is an Official Qualifier for the Two Oceans and Comrades Marathons!
