About this event
The 2024 Slave Route Challenge took place on Sunday, 26 May 2024, at Cape Town City Hall in Cape Town, Western Cape. Distances were 21.1km, 10km and 5km. Official results have been published by the timekeeper.

A historic part of Cape Town was built by those who were enslaved and apprenticed from Indonesia and Malaysia. Many Capetonians can trace their ancestors back to this time. Slave Route Challenge, powered by Brimstone, is a running event with the purpose of raising awareness about the history and heritage of Cape Town. It truly encapsulates the spirit of Ubuntu!
