About this event

The 2026 Voet van Afrika Marathon will take place Friday, 18 September 2026 to Saturday, 19 September 2026 from 06:00, at Bredasdorp sport grounds in Bredasdorp, Western Cape, South Africa. Distances include a 42km, 28km, 21km, 14km, 10km and 4km races.

What makes Voet van Afrika legendary? It's a race that demands respect, it test your lungs, your quads, and your mental fortitude. A unique road running and trail run event, and there is a reward: the scenery and the warm hospitality of the Bredasdorp community.

Running the 45th Voet van Afrika isn't about the medal; it's about saying "I was there" for the landmark moment in South African running history.

Entrants to the 21.1km route who park at the start in Napier can purchase a return bus ticket from Bredasdorp Sport Grounds, for R90 to collect their vehicles. Shuttles will run from 10h30 and the last bus will depart at 12h30. They will run on a continuous basis and will depart once full.

• Transport:
  
  • Transport to the start will depart from Bredasdorp Sport Ground at 04:45. The race starts at 06:00 on the Elim Road. (Transport could be a bus or an open truck, so please come prepared).
  • Entrants to the 21.1km route who park at the start in Napier can purchase a return bus ticket from Bredasdorp Sport Grounds, for R90 to collect their vehicles. Shuttles will run from 10h30 and the last bus will depart at 12h30. They will run on a continuous basis and will depart once full.
• Cut-off times:
  • Marathon
    • Cut-off in Napier at the “Bo-dorp Huisie” (16.5km to go) at 10:30
    • Final cut-off at 12:00 at finish.
